The DOT 4 brake fluid is especially used for Buell and Harley-Davidson models. The brake fluid type is marked on the cover of the brake fluid reservoir and depends on the type of the vehicle and the model year. There is the possibility that BUELL models from the year 2002 need different fluids for the front and rear brake. We recommend desperately to look for the signs on the cover.

Technical Tip:
Brake fluid with the marks DOT 4 and DOT 5 are not allowed to be mixed and used after that. Every vehicle has marks on the cover of the brake fluid reservoir. The DOT 5 brake fluid contains the silicon. We desperately discourage from using DOT 5 in DOT 4 brake systems. Operations on the brake system should only be repaired by a professional specialized staff.
